Chapter 7
It was nice to learn the come up of the generations. To think that we started from analog to wireless. Going from 14kbps to over 100mbps with 5g. When I was young, I would use 3G to watch videos and get mad when it went to 2g, and the video would take forever to load. Now I barley even need to wait for load times since the data of a website hasn’t really change as drastically as the increase in speed.
Learning some of the terminology is useful to me since I want to get into networking later. Having to know what a access point is and transfer rate and all that will come in handy. When I get deeper into my future career, I will be learning a lot more about these terms and what they really mean.
Thinking of back in the day, there being people driving around and looking for wi-fi is scary. In the modern-day people do not really do it since wi-fi is basically in all houses. It is still scary to think that people can access the wi-fi you use. The ability to get information off you if you connect to a public wi-fi should scare a lot of people. I never connect to public wi-fi unless I know they are safe. The school wi-fi is still kinda scary and I try to avoid it as much as I can. Needing a student id to get into it I still do not know how secure the back server for this wi-fi is.
